This will take place with each student,or group of students, for 30 minutes prior to the start of any program series to assess the rider’s skill level, horse sense and general comfort with out equine partners! A written assessment will be given to the participant or organization for progress reports.

Introduction to the horse series

·         Approaching the horse in a herd, body Language and communication

·         Safe haltering & Leading, turning in and out

·         Grooming, Basic Anatomy, Pressure points on your horse

·         Tack –ometry!  Learning about tack, saddles, bridles etc

·         Learning to saddle and bridle your horse

·         Safe Mounting and dismounting

·         Ride on lead line

·         Riding independently in the arena

·         Proper care for your horse post ride.

·         Introduction to “Join Up” with the horse

·         Deeper understanding of Join up and all things round pen

·         Learning non-verbal communication with your equine partner

·         Take what you’ve learned to the next level and start using non-verbal communication

·         Control your horse’s movements and speed

·         This series is great for people who do not wish to ride but still want the benefits of all                   that Introduction to the Horse has to offer, without the expectation to ride. Decide later             if you want to start riding, no pressure!!!

Trailblazer's series

·         After successful completion of the first 2 series, a participant may wish to take their                     partnership out of the arena/round pen and head out on trail!

·         Becoming proficient in the arena with various trail obstacles

·         Opening gates, traversing water, walking through brush, crossing a bridge

·         Riding out on trail

General Riding Lessons

Lessons will cover a variety of Western & English riding disciplines based on the student’s interest and their level of proficiency to be determined by the instructor’s assessment.

 This series is appropriate for ages 5 and above  (See our gallery!)              

 Price:    Private one on one instruction available for $50. Per hour

               Group instruction (2 to 4 students)  per class $35. Per hour
